Appomattox Court House Living History Comments and Photos

(22 October 2011)

See note from Appomattox Staff below.    Great Job!

Members of the 1st North Carolina Artillery,

On behalf of the staff at Appomattox Court House National Historical Park
thank you for making the October 22nd event such a memorable one. Not only
did the members present educational demonstrations, the unit was a joy to
work with and the attitude of the membership was obviously to engage and
educate the public. This is a mission that is also close to the heart of
the National Park Service and the staff here at Appomattox Court House NHP.
I wish it could be our habit to reimburse units for their efforts but
unfortunately you know this is not often the case so we also extend a thank
you to our event partners at Liberty Baptist Church of Appomattox.

We hope that you found that the half-day event was worth your time and
effort. As you recall the weather was perfect and we had a nice turnout of
visitors that I know very much enjoyed your demonstrations. It's always
nice to have artillery at an event particularly when it's a great group
like yours. This is the second time that I've seen you work here in the
last 3 years we appreciate what you do and how you do it. We look forward
to working with you again.
